This museum, which was opened on March 8, 1979, occupies what was formerly the headquarters of Venezuela's Military School and the Ministry of Defense. Architect Alejandro Chataing designed the building, which is a notable example of military architecture. Inside, you can find a documented military history of the country, which after the War of Independence, has seen more internal than external conflicts. This history is illustrated by the museum's documents, arms, uniforms and flags, including pieces from the Independence process itself. Entrance is free.
