Base 27 Xichang Satellite Launch Center: Comment

I actually *did* Locate "Base 27" - your coordinates were off a bit, and the imaging is kinda rough for that area.

Note: I am *not* a professional photo interpreter, but I'm pretty good at finding details in things.

Here are the proper coordinates for the Main Launch Gantry:

28°14'44.32"N 102° 1'36.79"E

You can barely see the shadow of the gantry, but the service structure is clearly to the west of the gantry, and the other launch pad is to the NE of coordinates given.

Hope this helps!
I went through here in April 1973. Ours was the 31st company of women. I was on the drill team and performed at two graduations before my own. It was hot as hell in April and May, I can't even imagine August. If we maintained a certain gpa we got to go to Disneyworld. We did, however, have to wear our uniform. Our company had 2 of the most insane company commanders. They did "tear ups" of the barracks while we were in class. We would come home to insanity......red koolaid on the grout, orange wax drawings on the painted cinder block walls. But I do have memories of the music.....Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree, getting a "V" shaped tan line from the garrison cap, and the friends. It was a scary time and I made it through. I am so sad to see the place disappearing.
""it is a volcanic dome of varied density rock that has eroded at different rates, the concentric circles being denser and eroding less obviously""

one theory is it resembles a volcanic dome that arose from underwater or that hydrothermal activity was involved in it's formation....is it possible that it could be as minerally productive as other volcanic(kimberlite "pipes" of south africa)?
my interest is the road that leaves Quadane(click Hybrid)to the west, approx. 30 miles WSW, at it's most northerly point, there appears to be a second, smaller Richat structure....can not make out inversion, as the shadows are not as pronounced, but water flow is evidenced by small tree collections in the areas of erosion and water flow...
Nice, and clear. It appears to be a BA Boeing 777 at fairly low altitude, presumably working it's way around to Heathrow, currently on the downwind leg. I am steadily amassing a small collection of such airborne oddities. Thx
2. Agree with the USN F/A-18 Hornet as posted above.
2. Aircraft is a high-wing Cessna or similar, towing an advertising banner along the coastline for people on the beach
3. Nice try, but I can do better than that (Lol)
The satellite view of the Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope is quite appealing. It makes you get in love with the place even more. The next time you take flights to Cape Town this place should surely be in your list of attractions.

Great Wall of China: Comment

        Hello Adventurers,
For those wondering where the Wall is around Beijing, I was there in 2010 and had intentions of visiting the wall, but I had planned on going on the next day after arriving. Big mistake. Remember the time zone change....and the buses leave early and I wasn't up for it. So keep that in mind. There should be plenty more info. out there about the buses in Beijing that go to the wall.
I can't wait until Wednesdays here to watch Ghost Hunters. I really hated to see Grant retire he is so good at this. I have watched almost all your shows and really liked it when Meat Loaf was on 2 shows. He is good and not afraid of anything. Sure would like to see him again. Keep putting out great episodes.
