Wheeling Island Racetrack & Gaming Center has been has been a part of the heritage of Wheeling, West Virginia for more than 100 years.  From its early racing days that predate the Civil War to becoming one of today’s largest West Virginia tourism attractions, Wheeling Island is rich in American history. 

What began as a site for thoroughbred and harness racing as early as 1866, our gaming center's now a premier destination for the region, with help from the introduction of video lottery machines in 1994.

Traditionally hosting more than two million guests annually, Wheeling Island Racetrack & Gaming Center estimates reaching the 3-million mark at the close of 2005, thanks to their new hotel and guest amenities added in June 2003.

Wheeling Island Racetrack & Gaming Center features a 151-room hotel, over 2,400 slot machines including Wheel of Fortune, a 550 seat showroom, meeting and banquet services, casual and fine dining restaurants, a food court, gift shop and 2,800 parking spaces including 180 covered spaces among its variety of amenities.
