Lake Tana is not the source of the Blue Nile. The true source, which feeds into Lake Tana, is the river the Little Abbai. A small hill is the center for the outflow of 8 streams, the one flowing almost due north is the Little Abbai. On the hill is a circular building, it is a church. The Little Abbai enters Lake Tana at the south west corner of the lake through a very narrow strip of land. See the exploration by Bruce, November 4th. 1770. It is very easy to follow the Little Abbai to its source on Google Earth.
