Iraq is a country of many ancient civilizations, and it's soil is stuffed with their remains, but ruins of the city of Babilon are located farther down the river, about 4 km south.

The previous comment is not correct. This map shows the ziggurat of Babylon, Etemenanki, which is in the heart of the ancient city. If you zoom out a little you can see the Southern Palace of Nebuchadnezzar II further to the north.
