Probably from some runway? To the NW in the shot, there looks to be a closed airport. Any clues to it's name?

Google Earth doesn't have a name for it, but my guess is that plane is on a long distance trip because unless all that stuff appeared at that airstrip...it didn't take off from there.

I take that back...aparrently if I turn on my keyhole layers I might learn stuff. It used to be RAF Ford Airfield. There's also supposedly a prison just to the south of the field.

There are two major GA airfields to the west of this aircraft; Southampton and Bournemouth (both International airports). Alternatively, just to the west, the Isle of Wight has two little airfields. With all the danger areas to the West, he's almost certain to be from one of those 4.

Looks like a piper to me.

Based on his proximity to the coast and that he's soon going to run under some controlled airspace, I reckon he's on his way to Shoreham airport (he's about 20 miles due east of it). If not, he's certainly going to bust their ATZ.
