Kasai Rinkai Park Kasai Rinkai Park
Go for the highs and lows

Boasting Japan's largest Ferris wheel and a fabulous aquarium, Kasai Rinkai Park can take you way up in the sky and then down into the ocean's depths in the course of an afternoon.

Rising to 117 meters, the "Diamond and Flowers" Ferris wheel offers spectacular views to Tokyo Disney Resort and Odaiba, beyond to the high rises of Shinjuku and Yokohama, and on a clear day you can even see Mt. Fuji. At night the wheel lights up in the brilliant patterns that give it its nickname.
Looking down, you'll see the glass dome that serves as the entrance to the aquarium. Here, you descend an escalator and enter a magical marine environment where large well-maintained tanks house creatures from all over the world. Watch out for the sharks!

A huge donut-shaped tank is filled with the giant bonito and tuna that most Japanese know only in sliced form as sashimi. Enter the hole at the heart of the donut and seat yourself in the Deep Sea Theater, where the fish parade in front of you as if in a wide-screen movie.

Outdoors, you can explore the shoreline tidal pool and the penguin pool, both of which can be viewed from both above and below the waterline. You may be surprised by the rainbow colors of both the fish and the corals that live in the oceans near Tokyo.

The displays are labelled in English and there is also an English pamphlet (also available in Russian, Chinese and Korean).
