Among the museum's most important objects is the Bell UH-1C Iroquois "Huey" Helicopter, which was an icon of the Vietnam era. This Huey was manufactured by Bell Aircraft in Ft. Worth, TX in 1966. She served two tours in Vietnam, and on March 1, 1969 she was "hit by hostile fire and had a hard landing." After repairs, she returned to Vietnam and completed her service in 1972.
This undertaking is for conservation, repair, and to prevent deterioration. Much of her battle scars will remain to remind visitors of her service to America.
Please be a part of preserving this iconic piece of American history by visiting the museum's Go-Fund Me page, and donating today. No donation is too small.
“Battleship Cove is dedicated to the preservation of a historical memorial providing the public with an educational experience to honor patriotism and country.”
