HMAS WATERHEN is located in Waverly, on the foreshore of Sydney harbour. Fleet Intermediate Maintenance Authority (FIMA) – WATERHEN and the Minewarfare Faculty are located within HMAS WATERHEN.

Training

The courses conducted at the Minewarfare Faculty vary in duration from eight to 16 weeks. Officers and sailors are provided with both initial and advanced, specialist training.

Working Routine The establishment’s normal working hours are 0745-1545 from Monday to Thursday and 0745-1300 on Friday.
Weather As for HMAS WATSON. The average water temperatures in Sydney Harbour range between 14° and 22° Celsius on the surface throughout the year, the warmest month being February and the coldest month being July. Average water temperatures within a 15 nautical mile radius of Sydney range between 16° and 24° Celsius on the surface and 14° and 19° Celsius at a depth of 100 metres.
