OUR MISSION

The Old Slater Mill Association preserves and stewards the Slater Mill National Historic Landmark
for the benefit of all. Recognized internationally as the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution,
the museum celebrates innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit by engaging audiences in relevant
cultural, historic, and artistic endeavors.

A National Historic Landmark in the
Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park

The Old Slater Mill National Historic Landmark is the cornerstone of the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park, established by Congress in 2014.  Because of its exceptional value in illustrating the industrial heritage of the United States of America, the Slater Mill Historic Site
was designated a National Historic Landmark District in the 1970s by the U.S. Department of
the Interior, and the National Park Service.
